The Opportunity

Digital marketing has become increasingly diverse, complex and important for clients. As a result investment into digital channels have increased and  have developed a number of digital specialist teams, originated to support our clients more holistically within areas such as digital display, social media, content production, PPC, SEO, Affiliates, Analytics and Insights etc

In recognition of this shift we have created a Digital Planning team focused on connecting our specialist services from both a planning and executional perspective. The team will be responsible for developing campaign strategies, collaborating with  specialist teams (and agency partners) and overseeing the delivery of connected 360 degree campaign plans that span all forms of digital. The Digital Communications teams will initially focus on the most progressive clients.

The Digital Planners will primarily be responsible for planning and delivering category leading digital campaigns for 1 to 2 of these clients.  Their main focus will be to build excellent client relationships in order to sell in complex digital approaches to clients based on solid KPI’s & trust.

A key part of this role is to collaborate with specialist and activation teams in addition to working closely with Comms Planning and Digital Leads/Strategists. Having an informed opinion, excellent communication skills and digital expertise are essential.


Digital Planning:

·         Employ and develop current planning tools & processes

·         Create and develop Paid, Owned and Earned campaign strategies that transcend specialist/activation teams and partner agencies (non-confrontational)

·         Set appropriate and trackable KPIs for all campaigns

·         Be aware of commercial considerations and requirements

Internal Relationships:

·         Have working knowledge of all specialist departments and how these can be incorporated into a strategy

·         Build strong relationships with key personnel in specialist and activation teams

·         Brief, collaborate and quality control specialist teams, activation teams and agency partners

Client Servicing

·         Become an expert in your client industry sector, the competitors within that sector and the general industry environment

·         Deliver work in an effective and timely manner

·         Attend & play and active role in client and agency status meetings

·         Ability to understand the complexities of the digital marketplace and how solutions can be applied to best effect


·         You will have the ability to see the ‘big picture’ and have a passion for all things digital

·         You will be constantly seeking new opportunities and new technologies

·         You will not accept ‘it cannot be done’ without investigation



The Digital Planner will report into the Digital Planning Director. They will be expected to work closely with the Digital Project Managers on their clients.
