Description

The Sales Manager is responsible for account management of a portfolio of key advertising agencies and clients. A key member of the sales team this operative must be able to negotiate and represent the company at a mid to senior level and to be able to demonstrate a proven track record of sales with the ability to build a network of valuable customer contacts to drive revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Brand ambassador for the company
  • Maximise all sales opp’s
  • Face to Face selling
  • Telephone selling – where appropriate
  • Meet & exceed budgeted targets.
  • Maintain & develop strong business relationships.
  • Key account management of specialist and West End agency business.
  • Consistently high external call rates – mminimum call rate of 5 external appointments per week
  • Recording and sharing of customer information
  • Respond to agency / client requests within 24 hours where feasible while managing expectations
  • Spending at least 70% of your time dealing with customers
  • Controlling your business to avoid customer disputes but dealing with them swiftly if they arise
  • Understanding market conditions and competitive forces
  • Growing new business whilst giving quality service to existing customers
  • Understanding and delivering ‘cross-platform solutions’ to customers
  • Implementing yield, volume and market share strategies as directed
  • Undertaking specific operational and management duties where and when appropriate
  • Proficient use of AdPoint & CRM
  • Maximise all sales opp’s

  • Maintain and develop strong working relationships and continue to provide outstanding customer service both internally and externally (client direct and agency)
  • To be an authority on the company brand, market and your specific business area
  • To be internally and externally recognised as an ambassador of the Time Out values
  • Have a full understanding of your weekly/monthly targets
  • Be proficient in all applicable research tools (NMR, Mintel, NRS, and TGI etc.)
  • To give regular and accurate reports on your agency / client patch and clients
  • Demonstrate understanding and practice of sales opportunities outside of your direct remit
  • Lead by example by being a professional inspirational role model
  • Inform and update team on title developments
  • Assist Sales Director in accurate forecasting for your business
  • Understanding and execution of production deadlines and processes
  • Demonstrate creative presenting skills

Formal Education & Certification

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ yrs media sales experience within publishing or digital
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Offices packages – Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Excellent knowledge of the media landscape including all latest developments
