Role Summary

To work as a primary TV specialist within a multi-media trading team. The candidate should be a self starter with real enthusiasm for TV and media in general. They should be good at developing relationships, spreading TV knowledge within the multi-media team, and supporting senior management.

Your role as an AD means you have significant media industry experience and ability in buying, plus senior level client interaction. In addition you will have collaborative relationships with media owners and media auditors in order to best deliver on our client requirements.

This role is essentially managing the buying requirements across all media of clients, ensuring the on-going delivery of great work and client service from the Buying unit.  Your role is to manage the team of buying managers and managers assigned to your accounts, whilst also actively training on a day-to-day basis.

You report to a Buying Director, ensuring all work is delivered in an accurate and timely fashion, whilst hitting the required targets. You will also collaborate with planners and other departments to ensure all buys are based upon strategy and client guarantees. You will be part of a team, responsible for large billings across several clients with highly competitive targets. You need to ensure that the team have all the information, skills and knowledge to deliver both client and company buying requirements.

You will be expected to monitor delivery by client versus targets, to translate those targets into the day to day buying requirements of your team and to create value for the Agency. You are a senior person within the company and are expected to mentor and train the junior members of your team, within a twice yearly appraisal process and more informally day to day.

Other Responsibilities 

Develop a broad understanding of other media; in time taking on a secondary channel e.g. Online/Radio/Press / Cinema where responsibilities would include:

  • Understand the channel planning, buying and billing processes and how they work at the Agency
  • Understand channel measurement, terminology and tools
  • Knowledge of the channel’s marketplace, its trading dynamics, key products/ media owners
  • Understand the role and capabilities of those channels within the media mix
  • Be able to talk a client through a multi media plan with confidence

Experience Required

 5+ years and above  buying experience

  • High standard of DDS, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly proficient buyer able to deal with all levels of media owner
  • Must have prior experience of managing and monitoring client deals, and have audit experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and be extremely organised
